Busty and the Bass is a collective of musicians who blend electro, soul, hip-hop, and funk, and prove to be truly effective. Born out of a jam session at McGill University, the band quickly made a name for themselves, moving within just a few months from private parties to major international stages.
After their third studio album, Forever Never Cares, which was well received by critics, Busty and the Bass released The Mannequin on February 6, 2025, an EP that highlights a new sonic direction for the group. Expanding their experiments with genres and textures, the project showcases the band’s timeless evolution, balancing the soulful mastery of dance tracks that earned them their reputation with more stripped-down moments.
Echoing the Stonewall riots of 1969, this new single offers a powerful preview of the highly anticipated debut album from rising LGBTQIA+ figure Dressed Like Boys.
